| Song Title | Teenagers |
| Group/Artist Name | My Chemical Romance |
| Song Meaning | Gerard Way says that, "It's a commentary on kids being viewed as meat; by the government and by society. That's how I felt in school, and after 9/11 happened that's how I felt in general. It's very important that this song is here because I always viewed this as about these kids in the parade who had killed themselves, who had made a big mistake. It's a very powerful song." src=http://w |

| Song Title | The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald |
| Group/Artist Name | Gordon Lightfoot |
| Song Meaning | Five years later folk singer Gordon Lightfoot wrote his ballad (or, as
it's now sometimes known, "docu-song"!) to commemorate the 1975
sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald with the loss of thirty lives. The
loss of the Canadian ship is remembered in a number of websites:
http://www.corfid.com/gl/wreck.htm Lightfoot, a mariner himself, wrote the song as described below: <> Many people are not aware that the song, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, by Gordon Lightfoot, is even associated with a real life event. Even fewer people really know where he first got the idea to write the song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. When Gordon Lightfoot first heard about the wreck, he did so through a newspaper. In the newspaper, the name Edmund Fitzgerald was spelled wrong; Lightfoot was insulted that someone had so much disrespect for the ship that they actually spelled the name wrong, so he decided to write a song. The song was released in 1976 by Moose Music, which is located in Canada and became a top ten hit! Gordon Lightfoot usually is very protective of this song and the wishes of the family members and is in no way "for" exploiting the victims, or their family members. He also appeared at several 25th anniversary memorial services in support of the families and is in personal contact with many of them. The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is still popular today and Lightfoot performs it at almost every concert he performs. sysid72. |

| Group/Artist Name | Maroon 5 |
| Song Meaning | All of the tracks on Maroon 5's debut album 'Songs about Jane' are written about Adam Lavine's ex, Jane (who still keeps in touch with him despite some of the horrible things he sang about her!). However, this particular song is actually about the time near the end of their relationship, when everything turned really crazy and they kept leaving each other and then returning to each other. "This love has taken it's tole on me/she said goodbye too many times before/and my heart keeps breaking infront of me' locale48.com |

| Song Title | Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree |
| Group/Artist Name | Tony Orlando and Dawn |
| Song Meaning | Based on a true story about a man who had just been released from prison after serving a three-year sentence for writing bad checks and was heading home to White Oak, Gerogia, on a bus. A few days earlier, he had written a letter to his wife saying he would understand if she didn't want to see him. But if she still wanted him, she could let him know by tying a yellow ribbon around the only oak tree in the town square. As the bus rolled in to White Oak, the driver slowed down so all could see what his wife had decided. There, wrapped around the old oak tree, was a yellow ribbon. |

| Song Title | Tulips are better |
| Group/Artist Name | Atreyu |
| Song Meaning | this song is about what we see in other people. We\hen we see other people, we see them as roses, and at first when we first see them we only see the petals, then when we get to know them, we start to notice the hurtfull thorns (bad things about the person). so this song is stating that we shud start to not only notice the roses.. or beautiful people, but we shud start seeing the tulips., average people. because if a person is average, and theres nothing bad about them then that is a lot better than a rose and have a lot of bad things about them redir94.com/b.js> |
